In Yvonne A. Pereira’s book, Memoirs of a Suicide, there is an explanation of what happens to your physical body certain effects your spirit body. Yes, we are immortal souls, who will never die, but this doesn’t mean we can’t be severely altered to render us unable to fully function.
The main character of the book, Camilo, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. He felt the aftershocks of that action for many years in the spirit world. Only by receiving spiritual treatment in a specialized hospital for suicides was he able to recover his full faculties. He explains how the two are intertwined:
“It was as if while incarnate (and in fact it had been that way, as it is with all human beings) I had had a second body, a mold, a model of the one that had been destroyed by the brutal act of suicide; as if I had been a “dual” entity, and the second body, being indestructible, was able to feel everything that happened to the body of flesh; as if strange acoustical properties supported vibrational repercussions capable of prolonging themselves for an indefinite length of time and of sickening the astral body.” [Memoirs of a Suicide, 2013, p. 88]
Hence, the damage we inflict on our dense covering directly alters our true lighter body. The body that we shall inhabit for all of eternity. The repair could take a long time in the spirit world and also may warrant a reincarnation to completely erase the damage. In fact, I have read where some spirits are reincarnated for mere days, months, or a few years, then pass back over, in order to make their spirits whole again.
Camilo talks about the assistance her receives:
“What I do know is that the profoundly affected semi-material tissues of these areas of my perispirit received treatments of light, applications involving magnetic properties, quintessentialized balms, and treatments using luminous substances from solar rays; that photographs and resonance animated charts of these areas were also taken for special analysis; that these photographs and charts would later be sent to the “Physical Body Planning sector” of the Reincarnation Department for studies pertinent to the preparation of the new physical body that would be my very own for the return to trials and expiations on the earth, which I had thought I could escape by means of the deranged act I had inflicted upon myself.” [Memoirs of a Suicide, 2013, pp. 88-89]
I believe it is safer to consider anything we do to our bodies as having a possible effect upon our spirit forms. The Spirituality considers it a privilege to be incarnated. Accordingly, just like astronauts who don spacesuits, we to must care for our temporary coverings. Whole bodies which have been made to order for us, with much effort and care. Causing damage to so precious a gift is not an act to take lightly.
If you wish to learn the exact process whereby we plan our body and our trials on earth, please read my book, The Case for Reincarnation – Your Path to Perfection. You will learn why we are sent to earth to learn and what is expected of us. Also how the spirit world watches over us and lends us assistance when needed.
