Reincarnation

What is reincarnation and why must we be reborn?

Look At Your Present…..

reincarnation1

By Geraldo Goulart

No, we are not here to talk about the goods that you received in the special moments of your material life; let’s not to talk about dolls, cars, jewelry, perfume, electronics or clothing. Let’s talk about current life situation where, occasionally, there are so many “why’s?”.

It is not difficult to find people who go through times of daily pain; not just caused from diseases. Others would like to understand the real motivation of their problems of respiratory deficiencies, digestive, motor functions, constant headaches or other debilitating conditions.

There are also those who, although not currently identifiable ailments, questions the “why” of physical disorders and or physiological brought from cradle.

Sometimes the problem presents itself in unhealthy personality, nervous, impatient, violent people who do not admit, do not allow any contradictions. How to justify or explain such diversity? Some religions advocate the argument that God was testing such creatures, but would that be possible? According to Christianity, the answer is “NO”. Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles, assured that “For there is no respect of persons with God” (Rom. 2:11), then it is inconceivable to believe that so many disturbances are trial or punishment from God randomly imposed on His children.

Any student of the Doctrine, making a careful reading of chapter V, “BLESSED ARE THE AFFLICTED” in THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SPIRITISM, will conclude, after a brief analysis of the text in question, that congenital illnesses come from previous lives. Effectively knowing about the justice of effect of previous and current actions which are the root causes of the sufferings, the reader will better understand the mechanisms of Divine Justice. Therefore, it will open also the field of reflections that will carry out more knowledge about other references found in the Gospel, for example, the “eye for eye, tooth for tooth.” (Exodus 21:24)

Not only are diseases of any order brought from the cradle, which stir up the curiosity of some, but also aspects of wealth and poverty. Hence, this is the reality of successive lives … reincarnation; where we pay for past wrongs and gain new experiences.

It is a mistake from who that say if they knew about their past lives everything would be easier. It would not be. Rather it would be more difficult because it would entail painful knowledge of faults committed in previous lives. We would be greatly ashamed by our failures, especially moral lapses.

In some sufferings, the current cause can be stated that they derive from vanity, pride, greed, envy, abandonment of the struggle in the field of family life. From there comes dissatisfaction, addictions, rebellion and intolerance of children and spouses and even relatives. According to Chapter V of The Gospel According to Spiritism, we learn that:

“On going back to the origins of earthly misfortunes it must be recognized that many are natural consequences of character and the behavior of those who suffer them. How many fail through their own fault? How many are the victims of their own thoughtlessness, pride or ambition?

How many destroy themselves through lack of discipline, misconduct or from not knowing how to limit their desires!

How many disastrous marriages are due to the fact that they were built on calculated interest or vanity, in which the heart took no part!

How many disagreements and fatal disputes could have been avoided with the aid of a little moderation and less susceptibility!

How many illnesses and diseases stem from intemperance and excesses of all kinds?

How many parents are unhappy with their children because they did not combat their bad instincts from an early age! Either from weakness or indifference, they allowed the germ of pride, selfishness and stupid vanity to grow in them, so causing their hearts to dry and shrivel. Later on, when reaping what they have sown, they are surprised and afflicted by the lack of gratitude and the indifference with which they are treated.

We ask each one whose heart has been hurt by vicissitudes or deceptions, to study their own conscience closely; to go back, step by step, to the origins of each misfortune which is torturing them. Like as not they will be able to say: if I had done, or not done, such and such a thing, I would not be where I am now.

Who then is responsible for Man’s afflictions if not Man himself? So then in a great number of cases he is the cause of his own misfortunes. But instead of recognizing this fact he finds it easier and less humiliating to his vanity to accuse his bad luck, providence or even his unlucky star, when in actual fact his unlucky star is his own carelessness. (…)” – item 4.

And yet in the same chapter, we read that:

“Sufferings due to causes prior to the present existence, as well as those which originate from present causes, are frequently the consequences of errors which have been committed. That is to say through the action of a rigorously distributive justice, we come to suffer what we have made others suffer. If we have been hard and inhumane we may be treated with harshness and inhumanity; if we were too full of pride we may be born in humble circumstances; if we have been miserly, selfish or made bad use of our riches we may find ourselves deprived of the necessary means of survival; if we have been a bad son or daughter we may suffer from the behavior of our children.

It is only through the plurality of existences and the destiny of the planet as a world of

atonement, which it now is, that we can explain the abnormalities in the distribution of happiness or unhappiness amongst good and bad alike. Nevertheless, these abnormalities exist only in appearance, due to the fact that they are considered solely from the point of view of the present. If we elevate ourselves, by means of thought, in such a way as to see a succession of existences, we will perceive that to each one is given what is deserved, after taking into consideration that which was gained in the spiritual world. Only then does it become apparent that God’s justice is uninterrupted.” – Item 7

That said, it is understood that the answers on the problems of their current life, people must search

them through retrospective and introspective analysis of their current existence. Following this route, be sure you will be able by an inspiration and deductions to reach what should be your current response and attitude toward your current situation.

Look at your present and then you will sense your past!

What Geraldo wrote about above explains many of the trials and sufferings we must live through. I write about the types of trials we are given and how to determine the best way to surmount any The Problem is the Solutionobstacle in a manner to learn from the experience and to emerge victorious from the trials assigned to us.

Read my book, The Problem is the Solution – 7 Life Complications Sent to Test and Teach You, so you too can look at your present and see the past and the glorious future awaiting you.

As you reach higher Spiritual levels your trials become more complex

I read a passage in Francisco (Chico) C. Xavier’s book, Between Heaven and Earth, inspired by the spirit Andre Luiz that talked about the planning of trials for spirits.

Clarencio, a minister and a recurring figure in Andre’s life examine a chart for a life plan. He comments;

“The broader the resources of the spirit returning to the flesh, the more complex its so-called work map is. Almost all of us have a significant amount of debt to pay and all of us

Between Heaven and Earth

are challenged by acquisitions we need to attain. This work map entails a type of relative fatalism regarding what we are to experience; on the other hand we are always responsible for our conduct, a fact that can generate either good or bad circumstances for us. Thus, we can see that freewill, which is also relative, is an irrefutable reality on every level of consciousness.” [2011, p. 16]

Hence, as you improve and rise in your spiritual quotient, your tasks, either caused by debts or the requirement to attain new experiences, are increasingly nuanced. Whereas, when you may have been a more primitive soul, you may have been reincarnated as servant or some other low order to teach you to be more respectful to others; an attribute you didn’t demonstrate when you were in charge. The placement of your birth most probably set your trials in motion with little room to maneuver or use your free will to avoid it altogether.

But as you gain your spiritual wings, the range of trials and circumstances may vary. You have more leeway to make a bad choice. If your conscience is not fully developed and you seek excuses to rationalize away your duty, it becomes easier to fail.

Of course, all of this is on purpose. As we become more proficient, the tests become more challenging. Just thought you may like to know this, to keep you from skating along in your life BookCover-Reincarnationin a pleasant fog. Watch out, your next test may be around the corner.

Geraldo – Lecture on Life in the Spirit World

geraldo-withchico-young

A young GeralDO with Chico Xavier

Another lecture by Geraldo Lemos Neto about life in the Spirit World. Geraldo goes into depth about life in the Spirit World. He should know, he worked with Chico Xavier for many years. The lecture is full of insights about our after-life.

Link to YouTube video

Introduction ends at: 5:21

Interesting points in the video:

Time: 13:13 – Geraldo talks about Emmanuel Swedenborg, who lived and wrote about the spirit life 150 years before Allan Kardec. He was preparing the way for the lessons of Allan Kardec. Emmanuel Swedenborg wrote about the Spiritual cities. There are cities in heaven, although more perfect than on earth.

Time: 25:14 – Chico’s mother wrote a book (via psychography), Cartas de Uma Morta, (Letters from a Dead Woman). She says the spirit life is an extension of the human life. Geraldo quotes her explaining the universe, “There is no emptiness in the universe, all planetary zones are full of life”. The book was written in 1932.

Time: 35:10 – There are thousands of colonies, similar to Nosso Lar, each colony reflects the culture of the society that provides its spirit population.

Time: 52:14 – Chico’s sister was Catholic. She also sent messages to Chico. After her death, she was taken to a Catholic community, she was happy to see other church goers and priests. Her mother told her she would have a time of resting. Then her daughter asked her, “What about you mother, what happens to the Spiritists after death?”. Her mother said, that after a Spiritist dies, they are just assigned something to do. So there you have it, the reward for being a Spiritist, it’s immediate work in the afterlife.

Time: 1:16:30 – We can prepare now for the next life. We can visualize what we want to do and be in the next life. There is no reason for a mature adult to give up on their dreams. Study something new, do something useful, that will make a difference.

Time: 1:24:00 – Chico’s mother wrote in 1931 that they had “remote vision” (TV) in the Spirit World, she passed away in 1915. Geraldo asked Chico how does the science compare between here and on Nosso Lar; Chico said they are about 100 years ahead of us.

Time: 1:30:10 – Discussion of work and payment in the Spiritual World. The work week is 48 hours per week. Information about how long it takes to own a home.

Time: 1:47:18 – There was one chapter written about what happens to people who die in a plane KindleCovercrash. The higher planes of the Spirit World told Chico and Andre Luiz (the Spirit author) to take that chapter out, that we here on earth are not prepared to learn this.

Believing in a Future Life, Completely Changes Your Point of View in this Life

the-gospel-according-to-spiritismIn the book, The Gospel According to Spiritism, by Allan Kardec, there is a passage which succinctly summarizes what it means to us, once we truly believe in reincarnation:

“The clear and precise idea that one holds of the future life provides and unshakable faith in the future. This faith carries enormous consequences for the moralization of human beings because it completely changes the point of view from which they consider earthly life. For those who through  their thought place themselves in the spirit life, which is limitless, corporeal life is no more than a passage, a brief stay in an ungrateful country. The vicissitudes and tribulations of life are no more than incidents which they bear with patience because they know that they are only of short duration, and that they must be followed by a happier state. Death no longer has anything terrifying about it and it is no longer a door to nothingness, but rather the deliverance that opens the exile the entryway to a dwelling place of happiness and peace. Knowing they are in a temporary, not final situation, they accept the worries of life with more indifference, which results in a composure of spirit that mitigates their afflictions.” [Chapter 2, #5, Point of View,p. 62]

Nothing could be more clear than what is written above. What matters the small problems of life BookCover-Reincarnationagainst an eternity? An immortal existence in a paradise compared to the unhappy state of earth.

The Effects of Past Lives on Marriages and Couples – vlog

The Problem is the Solution Marriages and Couples: with Brian Foster of nwspiritism.com– from the book “The Problem is the Solution”

The ideal situation of a marriage between two souls is one that many of us strive to attain. It is a state of mutual love and respect. A perfect harmony of existence. A place where the positive actions and thoughts serve to increase the potential of each partner. Where one plus one is greater than two. Unfortunately, this isn’t always possible.

We Remember our Entire Past in the Womb

In the book, Between Heaven and Earth, there is a passage, where Clarencio, Andre Luiz’s team leader talks about the process of reincarnating while in the womb. Clarencio discusses the difference between discarnation and reincarnation. Read More.

Incarnation – Necessary for the Progression of the Spirit

guardianangel2In Allan Kardec’s book, Genesis, Chapter XI, section 24, on page 223, there is a discussion of “Spiritual Genesis”. Allan Kardec lays out the map required to ascend in the spirit hierarchy in an easy to understand prose.

First he touches on the subject of why we must be reincarnated:

“24. The incarnate spirit’s obligation to provide for the sustenance of its body, its safety and well-being constraints it to apply it faculties in the search to exercise and develop such facilities. Thus, its union with matter is useful for its evolution and that is why incarnation is a necessity. Furthermore, by mean of the intelligent labor that it performs upon matter to its own advantage, it concurs in the physical transformation and progress of the globe that it inhabits. Its laboring for its own progress is how it contributes to the Creator’s work as an unsuspecting agent.”

What Allan Kardec is telling us, that a primitive spirit, must first learn how to feed and fend for itself.cavemen By doing so, the young spirit is taking society forward, as groups gather together to form tribal units to better supply the small community food and protection. At the same time, a basic division of labor appears. As we take toddlers to play with other young friends to begin the process of socialization, so does the spirit world set immature spirits on the ground to learn the basic rules.

Next, Allan Kardec reviews the process for advancement:

Genesis“25.  The spirit’s incarnation, however, is neither constant nor perpetual: it is only transitory. Upon leaving one body behind, it does not take another immediately. During a shorter or longer length of time, it lives the spirit life, which is its normal life. Hence, the amount of time spent during its different incarnations is very small compared with the time its spends in the state of a free spirit.

During the interval between its incarnations, the spirit also progresses in the sense that it uses for its advancement the knowledge and experience it acquired during its corporeal life. It examines what it did during its earthy stay, reviews what it learned, recognizes its wrongs, draws up its plans and makes resolutions by which it hopes to be guided in a new existence as it tries to do better. It is in this way that each life is a step forward on the path of progress, a sort of a practical schooling.”

Now we are told that each life on a planet, in a physical body is meant to instruct us. That we, with ourclassroom-elementary spirit mentors figure out our lesson plan. Each life is a series of events designed to impart specific areas of improvement in which we recognize deficiencies which must be corrected.

We are on earth to be taught and to teach others who cross our path. Our horrible and depressing times we experience are nothing more than an entry on a lesson plan. Allan Kardec explains that life isn’t there to torture us, but to uplift us.

“26. Incarnation is therefore not normally a punishment for the spirit, as some might think, but a condition inherent to the unevolved state of the spirit and a means of progressing.

As the spirit progresses morally, it dematerializes; that is, by freeing itself from the influence of matter, it purifies itself. Its life become more spiritualized and its abilities and perceptions broaden; its happiness is a result of the progress it has accomplished, However, since it acts in virtue of its free will, it can, through negligence or ill will, delay its advancement. Consequently, it prolongs the duration of its material incarnations, which then become a punishment, since due to its own fault it remains in the lower ranks and must start the same task all over again. It thus depends on the spirit itself to shorten – through its own efforts at the self-purification – the extent of the period of incarnations. [p. 224]”

Just as we tell our children, our ultimate success or failure is entirely up to us. Our dedication and attitude in life directly affects our progress in the spirit realm. Only by our free will decisions in 7Tenets-Front-smallpredetermined episodes in our life can we accumulate the knowledge we desire to gain and demonstrate our newly found attributes.

Life is a series of classes, and we are shuttled from one room to another by the machinations of the spirit world. The spirit realm doesn’t allow for unresolved conflicts. Hence, if you wronged a particular person, you may be born into that persons family (or vice-versa) all for the hope that you shall learn to love and cherish that person, and forgive them for whatever past injustice they did to you (or you to them) in a past life.
