The Effects of Past Lives on Marriages and Couples – vlog

The Problem is the Solution Marriages and Couples: with Brian Foster of nwspiritism.com– from the book “The Problem is the Solution”

The ideal situation of a marriage between two souls is one that many of us strive to attain. It is a state of mutual love and respect. A perfect harmony of existence. A place where the positive actions and thoughts serve to increase the potential of each partner. Where one plus one is greater than two. Unfortunately, this isn’t always possible.

… REST IN PEACE

By Geraldo Goulart

near-deathLarge numbers of people, upon learning about someone’s death, automatically express their feeling saying, “rest in peace”. Such expression is more a cultural attitude than religious one; an act that seems godly, but that does not keep any connection with the reality of the “post-mortem”.

This superficial faith that does not encourage study, no research, and prefers to rely on dogmas, mysteries and symbolism, induces its professed to believe that after disembodiment only what will remain for the righteous is paradise (to the righteous and chosen) or overwhelming flames of hell (to the unrepentant sinners who have not accepted salvation) and thus keep people linked to ignorance about the reality of spiritual life. Most religions says that they shall spend an eternity singing hymns in the Promised Land, if they are a believer, pious and God-fearing. It reveals a total unawareness about how is the Life after life.

They certainly have never heard – or even have read about – that here on Earth we have a faint copy of how the life is in other dimensions. In fact, all the progress made by the earthly man comes from inspiration on the other side of life and, yes, they are achievements that fall far short of the outreach that could have been. If here there are schools, libraries, artistic events, hospitals, places of worship, is because at some point in the past, people were inspired to work those activities and principles for the benefit of earthly society. Therefore, it is easy to conclude that, also on the side, there are institutions – and better ones – developed for the progress of the Spirits.

The first books in the series “Life in the Spirit World” dictated by the Spirit Andre Luiz to the medium Francisco Cândido Xavier, edited by Federação Espírita Brasileira, are rich in surprising revelations

and also in details of life after to what we call on Earth of “death”. From its reading we learn, aboutSONY DSC the organization and administration of the work, rests, entertainments and treatments devoted to the “dead” in some of the cities of beyond. We learn what happens in violent disembodiment caused by traumatic accidents; also those that occur due to serious illness, or by suicide. It is shown to us the spirits are affected by their repeated memories, especially when people were preoccupied with the material goods of earth in their last passage through the planet.

Remember two questions addressed to Emmanuel who is in the CONSOLADOR (FEB), items 147 and 148:

  • Does death provide unexpected changes and some modifications as many desire?

       — Death does not lavish miraculous changes to our consciousness.

Disincarnating is simply changing state, you don’t change the infirmities or virtues with the simple release of your body. It is important to observe only the change of the area in which you learn – from the terrestrial to the spirit plane. (…)

  •  -What awaits the disembodied man, directly, in the early years of life beyond the grave?

— The disembodied soul naturally seeks the activities that were its favorite in the circles of material life; obeying its similar desires, as it occurs in societies of your world.

Are not your cities replete of associations, of guilds, of whole classes that are joined and that unionize for determined aims, conjugating identical interests of several individuals? There, are not the loan sharks, the politicians, the traders, the priests, aiming at each group to defense of their own interests?

The disembodied, looks for, anxiously, in Space, the similar crowd with his thinking, in order to continue the same kind of life left on Earth, but in the case of passionate and vicious creatures, his mind again will find the materiality obsessions , as money, alcohol, etc., obsessions that become his moral martyrdom of every hour, in the closest spheres of the Earth.

That said, on the other hand, we observe that nature works continuously in the production and reproduction of essential items to the balance of the planet and of material life, then it is easy to deduce that the Creator is also working incessantly. In the Old and New Testament, are about 10 to 12 references to the substantives “rest” and “sleep,” but no one can infer that is “eternal” rest. Both in Psalms as in Deuteronomy and Isaiah, you can read that God works while we sleep. Will it be then that He sleeps or rests while we are woken? But we know that when in one hemisphere is day, in the other is night. So, there is no chance of rest for Him.

The Spiritist Doctrine codified by Allan Kardec, clarifies, in psychographic messages in different countries, the subject that the Supreme Intelligence works incessantly. And with regard to the type work there is also unanimity. In all the books of the Spiritist Pentateuch, there are varied comments on the subject. After analyzing them, it is easy to conclude that the Creator works unceasingly for our progress.

With regard to the “death” it is appropriate that those desiring further information read and reflect on Chapter II of THE BOOK OF SPIRITS where one can find enlightening answers. At the end, readers will understand that there is no “rest in peace” simply because after a necessary short period for the Spirit-101-Front-smallreadapting the Spirit; when one returns to the Spiritual Plan dimension, many surprises and activities await them. Hence death is not the end and the “nothing” does not exist just because life goes on.

Do not be Afraid of Death – It is Just a Transition. Death only denotes the end of our trials on Earth. It is the logical conclusion to a set of classes we required in order to improve ourselves. Moral Relativism – A Phase on the way to Spiritual Knowledge

moralrelativismThe abandonment of all moral absolutes and the rejection of any agreed upon modes of behavior is certainly disturbing for many. As a Spiritist my first reaction is to worry that our culture is actually moving farther away from the day when we recognize the importance of following the Golden Rule in all aspects of our daily life. Plus, our collective society seems to have lost the ability to think rationally.

In an essay on various subjects by Victor Davis Hanson, he gets around to reading about the decline of the West. He laments the state of affairs:

“In a word, relativism seems to have won. There are few standards left. Everything is negotiable, from the now fossilized idea of a traitor like Bergdahl to a neo-Confederate sanctuary city. A play, a movie, a building, a novel — anything really — cannot be assessed by absolute criteria, given that such “standards” are always set by oppressors of some sort, usually the children of capitalism and bourgeoisie consumerism who wish to enshrine their “privilege.” Take a sentence, chop it up into lines, and presto — a poem. By what standards is Chopin any more a genius than a Snoop Dogg? I thought of Walsh’s book yesterday when watching the various newscast reactions to the migration crisis in Europe and the deer-in-the-headlines faces of the European Eloi: Who are we to say that our culture is better than theirs? What is a border anyway? What even is a migrant? Whose values construct someone into the “Other”? Why do hosts enjoy privilege and guests do not?”[1]

As a case in point, I was talking to a young woman who was having problems with her spiritual life. I recommended that she read Allan Kardec’s The Book of Mediums, she answered why she should read another book by a dead white guy. I told her that her thinking doesn’t take into account that she may have been a white guy at some previous life and she may want to be careful about such prejudice.  Needless to say I haven’t heard from her since.

One can well imagine the schools where she matriculated. A constant bombardment of anger against persecution in a society which has never been more accepting seems to be the order of the day. Granted improvement is warranted, but there seems to be little or no recognition of what is right. The concept of honor in all dealings and truth has been discarded as an artificial construct created to control the oppressed. Again, the civility of many has been abused by those who have gamed the system for their own benefit, but that doesn’t remove the foundation of enlightenment built up over the centuries. This foundation of a rational scientific approach coupled with a sense of Noblesse Oblige was one of the major reasons why the spirit world began the entire Western Civilization. Starting with ancient Greece, the birthplace of democracy, up to the present time we have been presented with an ever increasing standard of behavior.

Looking back across the ages, the world went from believing slavery was natural, for any race or creed that happened to have the bad luck to be captured, to slavery being universally abhorred. The same can be said for other practices, such as the use of torture to extract confessions to the impossibility of divorce between two unsuited souls. To many the pendulum has not only swung too far to the other side, it is completely off-track. Again Victor Davis Hanson tells us:

“And yet if one examines the schools and universities, Hollywood, the art world, what shows up on televisions and the news, whom the foundations are funding, what the clerks in government do — everything really from our monuments to poetry — it is hard not to confess that “we lost.”[2]

Spirals of History

All of this must be put in perspective. In Spiritist literature we are told that progress is an upward spiral: sometimes it seems to spin out of control and loses all that was gained. But that extreme statePersecutionofChristians2 is an illusion, out of the chaos and disorder emerges a newer and stronger structure. Since the Renaissance the entire planet has ridden the train of scientific advancement. Each step more breakthroughs occur, spawning technological advances and widening the gap from the spiritual focus of most of the world during the Dark Ages of Europe. Even as Islam maintained a degree of inquisitiveness during those centuries, their society as a whole was dominated by the religious class. The vast majority of humans at that time lived under the rule of despots and/or a priestly class, who exercised control over the large percentage of population which consisted of servants, slaves, and farmers.

Technology and aggressive empire building by Europeans disrupted this system. True, in theory one set of dictators replaced another, but they brought a forced blending of goods, knowledge, and culture. By the 19th century few in the world could escape exposure to a new domain of scientific and technological advancement. The old religious dominated order slowly crumbled.

Which it should have. What we are seeing today is the last rebellion against the intolerance built up by the powerful religious institutions around the world. These organizations focused their energy on insisting the populace serve them and only in the manner they determined. Any type of deviation, such as divorce, sexual preference, or even manner of dress was punished. Only Islam is still actively resisting liberation from dogma by the dynamic forces of the modern worldwide culture.

By scorching the earth of intolerance, the basic truths or universal love, charity, fraternity, and fair-dealing for all are seared; resulting in a fog of intolerance, splitting up into false classifications of past oppressors and current victims. Without the realization that all of us, cycle through various levels of authority, prestige, and poverty precisely to learn the lessons that we are all to be valued and respected.

A rebalancing is occurring. Old and true values will be rediscovered, once the analysis of a world built upon sand is complete. Already a new set of ill-intentioned people are taking advantage of being held to no standard. As much as all of us sometimes wish for a life of a hedonistic existence, at a critical juncture we realize the emptiness of that pursuit. Doing nothing for the good, not even know what good means is against our programming. Life in the spirit world has precluded the ability to effortlessly glide through life without merit. Only at a terrible cost to a body disharmonized by the repeated disregard of a conscience, that book of Divine Laws that is in every one of us, can one sit still a complete lifetime and ignore the lessons assigned to us by the Spirituality.

The pendulum will swing back eventually, on a different plane, following the upward spiral of history. A modified set of moral standards will be discovered. Ones that respect everyone individual preferences and all are treated with dignity. A set of codes, following the Divine Laws, will emerge. Materialism will be de-emphasized and spirituality will become treasured once again. The accumulation of items for no discernible purpose other than to feel good will be acknowledged as a passing folly, while those who rise above the fray by their dedication will be admired.

The details and timing of this event may be variable, but it shall come to pass. The earth is on a trajectory to be promoted from a world of atonement, where we are reincarnated to pay for our past wrongs and to learn valuable lessons to a world of regeneration, where hate, envy, conflict between nations are a thing of the past. Hence, when a target is established by our spirit superiors, it will happen. So sit back and watch events unfold. This stage of the battle has been in progress for centuries. Maneuvers are being organized as we speak. All of us are part of the great movement forward. As long as we all perform our small part of practicing the Golden Rule and rewarding that Explore-Small-front-coverbehaviors in others, the battle will be over soon (in spirit time, of course!).

My book to teach you how to ascend in your current life, so you next life will be fashioned more to help you with experiences, instead of harsh lessons: How to Live – Inner Peace through Spiritism

Incarnation – Necessary for the Progression of the Spirit

guardianangel2In Allan Kardec’s book, Genesis, Chapter XI, section 24, on page 223, there is a discussion of “Spiritual Genesis”. Allan Kardec lays out the map required to ascend in the spirit hierarchy in an easy to understand prose.

First he touches on the subject of why we must be reincarnated:

“24. The incarnate spirit’s obligation to provide for the sustenance of its body, its safety and well-being constraints it to apply it faculties in the search to exercise and develop such facilities. Thus, its union with matter is useful for its evolution and that is why incarnation is a necessity. Furthermore, by mean of the intelligent labor that it performs upon matter to its own advantage, it concurs in the physical transformation and progress of the globe that it inhabits. Its laboring for its own progress is how it contributes to the Creator’s work as an unsuspecting agent.”

What Allan Kardec is telling us, that a primitive spirit, must first learn how to feed and fend for itself.cavemen By doing so, the young spirit is taking society forward, as groups gather together to form tribal units to better supply the small community food and protection. At the same time, a basic division of labor appears. As we take toddlers to play with other young friends to begin the process of socialization, so does the spirit world set immature spirits on the ground to learn the basic rules.

Next, Allan Kardec reviews the process for advancement:

Genesis“25.  The spirit’s incarnation, however, is neither constant nor perpetual: it is only transitory. Upon leaving one body behind, it does not take another immediately. During a shorter or longer length of time, it lives the spirit life, which is its normal life. Hence, the amount of time spent during its different incarnations is very small compared with the time its spends in the state of a free spirit.

During the interval between its incarnations, the spirit also progresses in the sense that it uses for its advancement the knowledge and experience it acquired during its corporeal life. It examines what it did during its earthy stay, reviews what it learned, recognizes its wrongs, draws up its plans and makes resolutions by which it hopes to be guided in a new existence as it tries to do better. It is in this way that each life is a step forward on the path of progress, a sort of a practical schooling.”

Now we are told that each life on a planet, in a physical body is meant to instruct us. That we, with ourclassroom-elementary spirit mentors figure out our lesson plan. Each life is a series of events designed to impart specific areas of improvement in which we recognize deficiencies which must be corrected.

We are on earth to be taught and to teach others who cross our path. Our horrible and depressing times we experience are nothing more than an entry on a lesson plan. Allan Kardec explains that life isn’t there to torture us, but to uplift us.

“26. Incarnation is therefore not normally a punishment for the spirit, as some might think, but a condition inherent to the unevolved state of the spirit and a means of progressing.

As the spirit progresses morally, it dematerializes; that is, by freeing itself from the influence of matter, it purifies itself. Its life become more spiritualized and its abilities and perceptions broaden; its happiness is a result of the progress it has accomplished, However, since it acts in virtue of its free will, it can, through negligence or ill will, delay its advancement. Consequently, it prolongs the duration of its material incarnations, which then become a punishment, since due to its own fault it remains in the lower ranks and must start the same task all over again. It thus depends on the spirit itself to shorten – through its own efforts at the self-purification – the extent of the period of incarnations. [p. 224]”

Just as we tell our children, our ultimate success or failure is entirely up to us. Our dedication and attitude in life directly affects our progress in the spirit realm. Only by our free will decisions in 7Tenets-Front-smallpredetermined episodes in our life can we accumulate the knowledge we desire to gain and demonstrate our newly found attributes.

Life is a series of classes, and we are shuttled from one room to another by the machinations of the spirit world. Bring the Family Together One Night per Week

gay-familyA good practice, and one that is encouraged by Spiritism, is to get the family together one night a week, the same night and at the same time, each week. We do, we start out with a prayer, then we use  any of the books on Spiritism and read, taking turns, paragraphs of the section you will study that night. We particularly like the book, Jesus in the Home. Don’t hesitate to stop after an interesting passage and discuss a subject. Going off in tangents is no harm either. With children, let them free associate and wander where the concepts take them. You never know, we have hadJesus-in-the-home-book some of the best laughs during these sessions.

Take at least 30 minutes. Have a family prayer afterwards. It will serve as an introduction to Spiritism for the children and let them know the importance of God in their lives.
