Death Bed Agony – It May Not Be What It Seems – YouTube

Death Bed Agony – It May Not Be What It Seems – We have all witnessed, in movies at least, the scenes of an agonizing death, one that we wished could be cut short for the poor person experiencing horrible last minutes on earth. But we are told, this is the absolute wrong course to take. The last minutes are important and should not be curtailed. Click here to watch my YouTube video.

The Departure Time

It was a touching scene: the daughters around their mother’s bed in the hospital, heavy and somber faces, red and watery eyes. Every person present trying to pick words of encouragement up, but in their heart, all of them experienced a sense of loss already ingrained in their spirits.

We can seriously say that we are not prepared for this moment, fatal and inevitable, which is the time for the return of our loved ones to the spiritual homeland. We are not. This is because even those who have been educated in some religion since childhood have not been taught in this respect. We study almost everything in programs of evangelization – in any denomination – but we do not talk about the “death” phenomenon. However “death” is life! And we have quoted this elsewhere.

Notice that we are prepared – always! – for various occasions: birthdays, holidays, weddings, holidays, Christmas, New Year, New Year’s Eve, Carnival …, and whatever else it may appear. But not only are we not prepared for a funeral ceremony, as we also do not know to say anything other than the well-known phrases as: “my condolences“, “my feelings“, “rest in peace“, “I am so sorry“. Fallacies!

Even worse when people of a strong and passionate temperament arise who do not accept what has happened – the separation -, and they begin to shout improprieties against the Godhead like: “- Why did God do this to me?“.

They do not understand – would it be possible try to make them understand? – that, in addition to suffering the loss, are also interfering, very often, in releasing of the creature that no longer animates its physical body, but that also cannot move itself away to another dimension due to the desperate calls they make to him at that moment.

It is well known that life on Earth is momentary. No matter how many years you will live, it will always be a great time spent here. Here we come, the spirits in need of learning, to pave the evolutionary journey alternating between Love and Pain to become better. This is fate. It is not by chance that Kardec’s grave, the tireless codifier of the Spiritist Doctrine, we read: “To be born, to grow, to die, to be reborn still and to progress always, such is the law.”

In some cases of illness, there are occurrences where there is the sudden improvement of the patient for the specific purpose of preparing the afflicted hearts of the relatives for the fatal outcome. This is when what is commonly called “the visit of health” occurs. Note also that in various distressful situations, the expected does not always occur.

Cases in which family and friends wait for the final moment, contrary to all expectations, it does not come. The patient recovers and life goes on. And there are situations where friends and family themselves pray for the outcome, believing that the sick person is already suffering too much and it is better that they “rest” by the way of death. Which is an illusion.

In the vast Spiritist literature, there are reports where the reader can verify the way of acting of Providence. Here a patient recovers and receives an additional time for family members to calm down, thereby avoiding the enormous burden of suffering that would be undue to the feelings of that group. There occurs the postponement because some objectives are yet to be achieved in that family collectivity. Not knowing the day and the hour when the thief will come, no one can say when it will be the final hour of whoever it is.

For a better understanding and absorption of knowledge on the subject, we suggest reading the books “The Book of Spirits” and “Heaven and the Hell” both by Allan Kardec and read the series of Andre Luiz books by Francisco C. Xavier, beginning with Nosso Lar.

… REST IN PEACE

By Geraldo Goulart

near-deathLarge numbers of people, upon learning about someone’s death, automatically express their feeling saying, “rest in peace”. Such expression is more a cultural attitude than religious one; an act that seems godly, but that does not keep any connection with the reality of the “post-mortem”.

This superficial faith that does not encourage study, no research, and prefers to rely on dogmas, mysteries and symbolism, induces its professed to believe that after disembodiment only what will remain for the righteous is paradise (to the righteous and chosen) or overwhelming flames of hell (to the unrepentant sinners who have not accepted salvation) and thus keep people linked to ignorance about the reality of spiritual life. Most religions says that they shall spend an eternity singing hymns in the Promised Land, if they are a believer, pious and God-fearing. It reveals a total unawareness about how is the Life after life.

They certainly have never heard – or even have read about – that here on Earth we have a faint copy of how the life is in other dimensions. In fact, all the progress made by the earthly man comes from inspiration on the other side of life and, yes, they are achievements that fall far short of the outreach that could have been. If here there are schools, libraries, artistic events, hospitals, places of worship, is because at some point in the past, people were inspired to work those activities and principles for the benefit of earthly society. Therefore, it is easy to conclude that, also on the side, there are institutions – and better ones – developed for the progress of the Spirits.

The first books in the series “Life in the Spirit World” dictated by the Spirit Andre Luiz to the medium Francisco Cândido Xavier, edited by Federação Espírita Brasileira, are rich in surprising revelations

and also in details of life after to what we call on Earth of “death”. From its reading we learn, aboutSONY DSC the organization and administration of the work, rests, entertainments and treatments devoted to the “dead” in some of the cities of beyond. We learn what happens in violent disembodiment caused by traumatic accidents; also those that occur due to serious illness, or by suicide. It is shown to us the spirits are affected by their repeated memories, especially when people were preoccupied with the material goods of earth in their last passage through the planet.

Remember two questions addressed to Emmanuel who is in the CONSOLADOR (FEB), items 147 and 148:

  • Does death provide unexpected changes and some modifications as many desire?

       — Death does not lavish miraculous changes to our consciousness.

Disincarnating is simply changing state, you don’t change the infirmities or virtues with the simple release of your body. It is important to observe only the change of the area in which you learn – from the terrestrial to the spirit plane. (…)

  •  -What awaits the disembodied man, directly, in the early years of life beyond the grave?

— The disembodied soul naturally seeks the activities that were its favorite in the circles of material life; obeying its similar desires, as it occurs in societies of your world.

Are not your cities replete of associations, of guilds, of whole classes that are joined and that unionize for determined aims, conjugating identical interests of several individuals? There, are not the loan sharks, the politicians, the traders, the priests, aiming at each group to defense of their own interests?

The disembodied, looks for, anxiously, in Space, the similar crowd with his thinking, in order to continue the same kind of life left on Earth, but in the case of passionate and vicious creatures, his mind again will find the materiality obsessions , as money, alcohol, etc., obsessions that become his moral martyrdom of every hour, in the closest spheres of the Earth.

That said, on the other hand, we observe that nature works continuously in the production and reproduction of essential items to the balance of the planet and of material life, then it is easy to deduce that the Creator is also working incessantly. In the Old and New Testament, are about 10 to 12 references to the substantives “rest” and “sleep,” but no one can infer that is “eternal” rest. Both in Psalms as in Deuteronomy and Isaiah, you can read that God works while we sleep. Will it be then that He sleeps or rests while we are woken? But we know that when in one hemisphere is day, in the other is night. So, there is no chance of rest for Him.

The Spiritist Doctrine codified by Allan Kardec, clarifies, in psychographic messages in different countries, the subject that the Supreme Intelligence works incessantly. And with regard to the type work there is also unanimity. In all the books of the Spiritist Pentateuch, there are varied comments on the subject. After analyzing them, it is easy to conclude that the Creator works unceasingly for our progress.

With regard to the “death” it is appropriate that those desiring further information read and reflect on Chapter II of THE BOOK OF SPIRITS where one can find enlightening answers. At the end, readers will understand that there is no “rest in peace” simply because after a necessary short period for the Spirit-101-Front-smallreadapting the Spirit; when one returns to the Spiritual Plan dimension, many surprises and activities await them. Hence death is not the end and the “nothing” does not exist just because life goes on.

What Happens When a Child Dies?

Most Spiritist believe that when a child dies, the spirit returns to an adult form, so they may start over. In some of the books by Andre Luiz, there are mentions of places where spirits care for children. One would think this would be a rare occurrence, after all newly formed spirits are first reincarnated upon primitive worlds. There is an explanation to this mystery in the book Between Heaven and Earth, by Francisco C. Xavier, inspired by the spirit Andre Luiz. Andre Luiz is talking to his companions when they are visiting a center for spirit children and as usual, Andre is curious about such centers, he records the following conversation;

Between Heaven and Earth

Between Heaven and Earth

“According to the old, classical theology, newborns remained in limbo after death, without the glory of heaven or the torment of hell, whereas of late, with the new concepts of spiritualism, such discarnates have been thought to immediately resume their adult personage.”

“A lot of times that is what actually happens.” Explains Blandina. “When the spirit has reached an elevated evolutionary level and has assumed mental command of itself, it acquires the ability to easily disengage itself from the imposition of the physical form, overcoming the difficulties of pre-adult discarnation. We know of great souls who were reborn for a very short time, simply with the objective of awakening beloved hearts to the acquisition of moral values. Then, right afterwards, they recover their former appearance. However, the same does not apply for most children that discarnate. Souls that are still prisoners of unconscious automatism are relatively a long way from self- governance. They rest and are led by nature, like babies in their mothers’ laps. They are unable to undo the ties that bind them to the rigid principles that guide the world of forms: thus, they need time in order to be renewed. That is why we cannot do without the recovery time needed for someone who has left the physical vehicle in infancy, because after the biological struggle of reincarnation or discarnation for those who are in the early stages of acquiring mental power, time has to function as an indispensable element for restoration. The length of that time depends on how the learner applies him or herself to acquire inner light through his or her own moral growth.” (p. 68)

Hence, once again, our ability to free ourselves from the materialistic world and concentrate on love and helping others, does make a difference in subsequent lives. With a superior pool of knowledge we are able to recover our spiritual form, while those who have been reincarnated to begin another trial without first attaining a taste of the wonderfulness of spiritual life are at a disadvantage. We truly are BookCover-Reincarnationcreatures of our own mind. We should invest as much energy in the development of our inner bodies as we do in our outward appearance.

Understand the entire process of reincarnation, how we plan our lives beforehand in the spirit world, how we are guided during our life’s journey and what is our goal by reading my book, The Case for Reincarnation – Your Path to Perfection.

The Impressions of a Spiritist right after Physical Death

workers-ofpthe-life-eternalIn the book, Workers of the Life Eternal, dictated by Andre Luiz, and psychographed by Chico Xavier, Andre Luiz is given permission to ask questions to Dimas, who had just passed away.

Dimas was an untiring medium, who worked for the good of incarnates and discarnates. Hence, Andre was part of a spirit team who was sent to help Dimas disconnect from his physical life.  It is worth noting, that one of the main obstacles, was the desire of his family for him to recover and once more be part of their life. The thoughts emanating from Dimas’ wife and children kept him tied to earth. The spirit team had to resort to the camouflage of making Dimas appear to recover, so his family would leave the spirit team a few hours of peace to begin the process to bring Dimas over to the spirit realm.

Upon his death, Dimas was placed in a coffin. Next, the coffin was taken to the cemetery, where the funeral procession included at least twenty discarnates, including the newly departed. At the cemetery, where the coffin containing the remains Dimas is being buried. Andre asks his director if he can pose some questions to Dimas.  The Director gives his permission to explore more what it feels like to be newly dead.

Andre turns to Dimas, now a spirit and asks;

“Are you still experiencing any physical pain?”, I began.

“I still have a clear impression of the body I have just left behind,” he responded politely. “But I have noticed that, in wishing to remain close to my own loved ones and to continue on where I had been for so many years, I relive all the suffering that I endured. However, when I resign myself to accepting the higher designs, I immediately feel lighter and comforted. Despite the short amount of time that I have been awake, I have already been able to make such an observation.”

“And what about the five senses?” I continued.

“They are in perfect working order.”

“Do you feel hunger?”

“I actually can tell that my stomach is empty and I would be glad if I had something to eat, but this physical desire is neither uncomfortable nor torturing.

“And thirst?”

“Yes, although I do not suffer because of it.”

As usual Andre poses the questions we would all like to know. There are an enormous number of gems of information in each one of Andre’s books. I encourage our readers to discover more
