According to Emanuel Swedenborg, in the book, A Swedenborg Sampler, on page 158, the spiritual world acting from within our conscience attempts to cause us to see things as they really are. Here is what Swedenborg tells us:
“Divine providence is constantly making sure we see what is true and giving us a desire to appreciate it and accept it. This happens because divine providence is acting from the inside and flowing through to the outside, from the spiritual level into things in out lower self. Then it enlightens our discernment with heaven’s light and gives light to our volition with heaven’s warmth. Essentially, heaven’s light is divine wisdom and heaven’s warmth is divine love; and nothing can flow in from divine wisdom except what is true, and nothing can flow in from divine love except what is good.”
Swedenborg tells us to tap into the divine flow and that is exactly what I describe in my book, 7 Tenets of Spiritism – How They Impact Your Daily Life. We swim in an ocean of spirits, both good and those who don’t wish us well. We must learn to discriminate between the two types by growing and exercising our conscience to allow us to feel the love and warmth when we make good life decisions.
