Spiritism echoes the words of Christ when He said, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21). Meaning we should strive to be good citizens and perform our civic duties.
When we have a government that tries hard to be just (yes, it is not easy, and most will fail overall), then we too should attempt to cooperate. But when a government dictates orders that violate your conscience and has demonstrated a lack of humanity to its own, then actions become complicated.
