First, remember what Jesus said about judging others – look at the plank in your own eye before paying attention to the speck in your brother’s eye. And yes, I know this is unavoidable, especially when you wish to be amongst a group of people that you share an affinity with.
I have had many people comment to me that when they were part of a group, they were amazed how many hypocrites were around them. Hence, they no longer wished to be part of that group.
My advice is to first step back. Realize that we are all imperfect – Otherwise why we would be on this planet of atonement!
